SOLVING THE BITLER CONUNDRUM: A REPLY TO AROON PURIE
Written in response to Aroon Purie's "From the Editor-in-Chief," India Today, July 28, 2023, to be published in the August 7, 2023 edition.
I hate intellectual confusion.
What's happening in "Manipur" isn't a "Blunder," anymore than Gujarat 2002 was: It's Consciously Deliberate, "#PabungsGame."
Aroon Purie starts of brilliantly, judiciously, and with incisive insight, but ends with a damp squib: He palters, which is deeply unfortunate.
But this is a sign of a deeper malaise, for example: The Crass remarks of Modibhakt Badri Seshadri attacking the tepid remarks of the Supreme Court of India (SCI), remarks whitewashing the Violence in "Manipur," the Genocide of the Kukis, the rapes & gangrapes, the murders, the "#ManipurHorror."
Seshadri attacked the SCI, not because it deliberately failed the Kukis but because it was horrified by the "#ManipurHorror," and threatened offhandedly and indifferently a vague and insincere intervention against the Bitler.
The Press came together to stand for one of its own, Badri Seshadri, a publisher, even though it means a stand blindly against Humanity.
Drastic action is called for in the PatkaiBum mountains: India has to reclaim the scene, reassert the State, and - to put it indelicately - reclaim the State's monopoly on violence, for which it needs to come down with extreme hardness, with extreme brutality, make no mistakes about it, on the Meiteis, Perpetrators of the Genocide and Holocaust of the Kukis.
The "Manipur Conflict" is a one sided affair: It is an offensive war being waged collectively by the Meiteis, for the Extermination of the Kukis, for the purpose of freely colonizing Kukiland. For the Kukis, it's been a defensive war. This is a situation that cannot continue, and, despite the heroic efforts of the Kukis, if there is no external intervention, the Kukis will eventually fall before the superior numbers and arms of the Meiteis.
The Meiteis have deliberately maddened themselves, driven themselves into a rage of fury.
This is Biren Singh's doing: He's worked long and hard selling Jingoism to the Meiteis, whipping them up into a frenzy, and he carefully stokes the fires, keeps them burning, to ensure that the momentum is not lost.
It will be a great bloodbath, the present "#ManipurHorror" will seem, by comparison, a romp in the garden, if and when the Kukis fall.
The Kukis know what it will mean if they fall: They will be exterminated as a People.
That means, for India to regain State monopoly on violence, coming down hard, very, very hard, on the Sole Author & Principal of the Mayhem: Biren Singh, and with him, on the Meitei Women's organizations, the main Engines of his State Genocide of the Kukis - the #MeiraPaibis, the "Imas," the UMO or "United Murderesses Organization."
And on the Side Actors too, the Skirthangers: Manipur Police, Manipur Rifles, AMUCO, Arambai Tenggol, Meitei Leepun, etc.
India is relearning, a costly folly, what the English had already learnt: Meiteis are unreliable, untrustworthy, narrow-minded, Chauvinists, with a frog-in-the-well world outlook, and can't be trusted to justly govern "the Hills."
Kuldeep Singh is a flop, which isn't his fault, he was never given real power and authority. A Julio Ribeiro is needed.
But 9 years of Modi's PrimaDonnaism has sapped India, reduced India to a shell of itself: no stalwarts are evident.
Which brings us to the larger picture: Modi is as much a Player, not a Silent, Indifferent Spectator, and has Enabled & Facilitated Bitler, Continues To Do So.
Bitler speaks to the depths of the malice of Modi's being as few others do, there is a natural coherence: Their depths recognize each other as brothers in malice and Misanthropy and Chauvinism and Atavism and Revanchism, brothers from other mothers.
Modi's ascent, and continuance, puts India - and the world - in great peril.
Modi will always fail the Kukis.
Kukis have, since 1949, had the hardest part, and have struggled, heroically, to survive, but Kukis are also fools to repose faith in Modi & his BJP, and are paying the price for this, their greatest folly.
Yet, the Kukis are "canaries in the mine," with more importance to humanity as a sample case, as the Czechs and Sudentenland of our times, rather than anything inherent, and if "Pabung's Game" succeeds, it will indeed be official that "the lights go out," to quote Churchill, in India and the world, with deadly repercussions for all humanity, drawing the curtains down on an era since 1945, and inexorably, inevitably, ushering the world to World War III, which will usually end in a Nuclear Armageddon.
The World promised itself, "Never Again!" and has grown soft and complacent at the Watch, and has allowed a Monster to arise, that will thrust the world into greater pain than it has ever known before.
The West, both Right & Left, has cravenly, from economic cupidity, fawned upon, and facilitated, and empowered, and applauded, and glorified, the Monster called Narendra Modi, not for any inherent contribution to the world, but to suck up to him and to India, as flattery designed to inveigle the West into his good books, with the hopes of opening up the Indian Market to western corporates.
Billions will die.
