Biren's Goebbelsian Peace: Not Only Are Only Kukis Being Arrested, They're Being Falsely Mischaracterized as "Antinationals"!
In Manipur Proper, the Imphal Valley, only Kukis are being arrested.
So, Kukis Fighting To Protect Kuki homes From Robbers, Arsonists, Are "Antinationals," But Meitei Pogromists & Arsonists Are "Patriots," Obviously, In Contrast!
The first instance is of a Kuki, Chungkhomang Kipgen, arrested for allegedly being in possession of illegal firearm, and firing on Meiteis, injuring 3 persons.
The 2nd instance was more serious: Kuki ex-MLA of the INC and then of the BJP, including as Deputy Speaker, and as head of the HAC, Telvum Thangzalang Haokip, and who had lastly contested as a candidate for the Shiv Sena, led 3-4 other Kuki men, 2 of them allegedly armed with firearms, allegedly to threaten a Meitei mother-daughter couple against encroaching into, and selling vegetables in, an abandoned market belonging to Kuki women traders in New Checkon /New Lambulane; Haokip lives and runs a travel agency in the same area. A Meitei mob quickly collected, assaulted Haokip's party, seizing one of them, then moved on to set abandoned Kuki homes and churches on fire. The Protestant ICI Church (Independent Church of India), Mission Compound, Chassad Avenue, New Checkon / New Lambulane, East Imphal District, 795005. (https://ici.net.in, 9774807650), was one of the churches burned down by this Meitei mob. A member of this Meitei mob was apprehended by the Army attempting to down an Army surveillance Quadcopter drone by throwing stones at it, and claimed to be a member of the press. The Army had to use force to make its way through the mob to control the fire. Despite these facts, it is only Telvum Thangzalang Haokip, and his three alleged companions that show as being arrested. Not even the alleged Meitei "pressman" who was caught attempting to bring down an Army Quadcopter drone, shows as having been arrested.
Mr Haokip says that he and the other 4 Kukis had insisted on staying behind to protect their homes, properties, churches, etc., from being looted and destroyed, and patrolled the two adjacent areas of New Checkon and New Lambulane to deter Meitei looters and arsonists, and were alarmed when a couple of Meitei women encroached on the abandoned Kuki's "Tribal Women's Market," in New Checkon / New Lambulane, and demanded that they close up and leave, go away.
The Organizer, newspaper of the Hindu "nationalists," claims that the Kuki ex-MLA, Telvum Thangzalang Haokip, and his 3-4 Kuki companions, set fire to Kuki abandoned homes, which is a bald lie.
The next incident was where a Meitei mob acousted three Kukis traveling on a two wheeler, pulling off one of the three men, L. Hangshing, the other two escaped the mob and took shelter with the village chieftain of the Makhan hamlet in Sekmai. Informed of this, the Army, police, guided by some local Meiteis, rescued the kidnapped Kuki, L. Hangshing, took him to the hospital, before handing him over to his family, the press photo shows the rescued man in a wheelchair. None of his kidnappers and torturers show arrested.
All of this clearly shows that there is evidently a deliberately policy to "arrest" only Kukis, to not arrest Meiteis.
