Who Killed Toijam Chandramani?
WHO KILLED TOIJAM CHANDRAMANI, AND WHY?
The Curious Case Of How Toijam Chandramani Singh Died, And Leichombam Manoj "Abungnao," And Aribam Rishikesh Sharma, Were Injured.
There are various and contradictory stories being told of how Toijam Chandramani Singh Died, and of how Leichombam Manoj "Abungnao," and Aribam Rishikesh Sharma were injured.
We need to do some sleuthing to untangle the lies and obfuscations to reveal the truth of what happened.
Where the truth is told, it's deliberately told in an incoherent manner, designed to confuse. I will try and straighten out the sequence of events, along with proofreading the texts.
WHAT TRIGGERED THESE EVENTS
The trigger for the Lamka - Lamlangdong bordering districts fighting, and for the killing of Toijam Chandramani Singh, was the New Checkon / New Lambulane Incident: Telvum Thangzalang Haokip led a party of 3-4 Kukis, two of them armed with home made rifles, to warn away Meitei traders illegally encroaching on the Tribal Market, in his home neighborhood in Imphal. A Meitei mob collected, assaulted Haokip's party, then burned several Kuki homes and churches, including the Independent Church of India located in Chassad Avenue, New Lambulane; the Indian Army and Assam Rifles arrested Haokip and his party, but not even one of the Meiteis who illegally intruded into, encroached upon the Tribal Market, or any of the Meitei mob rioters and arsonists is shown as arrested! N. Biren Singh knavishly lying, blamed Telvum Thangzalang Haokip, suggestively distorting the facts by saying that Haokip "instigated the arrested gunmen," by which he threw all the blame, for Meiteis intruding into, and encroaching upon, the Tribal Market, the Meitei mob's riots and arsons, upon Telvum Thangzalang Haokip!
These events and blatantly biased actions of the Manipur Police, and of N. Biren Singh, reasonably aggravated and inflamed the Kukis, who retaliated by burning 3 abandoned Meitei homes.
WHAT HAPPENED TO TOIJAM CHANDRAMANI
There are three different narratives for what happened with Toijam Chandramani, why he was fired upon, why he was killed.
What is not questionable is that Toijam Chandramani Singh, age given variously as 29, 30, and 40, was a Meitei refugee, a resident of Thengra Leirak, an illegal Meitei colony in Lamca ("Churachandpur") District in Kukiland, sheltering in the Moirang College at Ngangkha Leikai refugee camp near Moirang town in Lamlangdong ("Bishnupur") District in Meiteileipak (Meiteiland).
Our sources of information are press briefings by "former Director-General of the Central Reserve Police Force," CRPF, Kuldeep Singh, appointed by the Central Government of India as "Security Advisor" to the Manipur Government, under Section 355 of the Indian Constitution.
Curiously the same press briefings then produce different "narratives," of how Toijam Chandramani lived the last hours of his life, and how he died, in some kind of twisted "Chinese Whispers"!
NARRATIVE # 1: Kukis retaliated to the Meitei mob's arsons in New Checkon New Lambulane and burned 3 Meitei houses in Tronglaobi village in Lamlangdong District. Meiteis retaliated and burned 4 Kuki houses in Phoubakchao and other locations.
Toijam Chandramani was sauntering, strolling at the gates of the relief camp he was sheltering in, taking the air, and was shot by a (presumably) Kuki sniper, at about 9.30 a.m. on Wednesday morning, May 24, 2023.
We must rigidly, and as a matter of course, exclude the possibility that he was mistakenly shot by an Indian Army drone, no, Siree! Doesn't meet the narrative's requirement that the Kukis, and only the Kukis, are wrongdoers, VILLAINS, targetting poor innocent and extremely peaceful Meitei mobs peacefully minding their own business, peacefully going about their everyday tasks of peacefully raping and butchering Kukis, peacefully burning Kuki homes, businesses and churches! No, Siree!

There are no people on the face of the Earth, that loveth and seeketh out peace, at all costs, than the most august and peaceloving Meiteis!
(Picture: Peaceloving Meiteis peacefully robbing Kuki homes)
Narrative # 2: Kukis retaliated to the Meitei mob's arsons in New Checkon New Lambulane and burned 3 Meitei houses in Tronglaobi village in Lamlangdong District. Meiteis retaliated and burned 4 Kuki houses in Phoubakchao and other locations.
Several Meitei residents then engaged in demonstrations and started chasing the Kuki fighters, due to which security forces were brought in to control the situation. Kuldeep Singh said that around 9.30 am, Chandramani and another person sustained injuries from bullets "which were being fired from the Kuki hills."
At this time, early in the morning of Wednesday, May 24, when Toijam Chandramani was shot at, at about 9.30 a.m., Indian Army drones were just waking up, yawning, brushing their teeth, getting ready for breakfast.
(Picture: Peaceloving Meitei firefighters protesting against being beaten up by Jat Regiment, Indian Army, for "going slow" instead of dousing fires set by Peaceloving Meitei mobs peacefully burning down Kuki homes in New Checkon / New Lambulane)
No possibility at all that an Indian Army drone may have mistakenly shot Toijam Chandramani as a belligerent, as the Indian Army religiously restrains itself to baton-charging Meitei firefighters in cahoots with Meitei arsonist mobs, and to baton-charging Meitei Pressmen amusing themselves peacefully throwing stones at Indian Army Quadcopters.
(Picture: Peaceloving Meitei pressmen wickedly, dastardly being beaten up by Jat Regiment Indian Army for peacefully throwing stones at Army Quadcopters monitoring Peaceloving Meitei arsonist mob.)
NARRATIVE # 3: Kukis retaliated to the Meitei mob's arsons in New Checkon New Lambulane and burned 3 Meitei houses in Tronglaobi village in Lamlangdong District. Meiteis retaliated and burned 4 Kuki houses in Phoubakchao and other locations.
"The Meitei villagers and Meiteis living in the Moirang camp were angry over the burning of their houses. As these people came to TELEPATHICALLY know that militants might torch a school located in an area near Thamnapokpi in Bishnupur and Kanganthei in Churachandpur, they went to that locality. Once, they reached the spot, Kuki militants fired on them, leaving two persons injured. One of the two succumbed to his injuries when he was taken to a hospital," Kuldeep Singh said.
At that time, at 9.30 a.m. Wednesday morning, May 24, 2023, Indian Army drones were doing Yoga, meditating, listening to the latest edition of "The Monkey's Bath," and sipping on their Gomutra Lattes, and none of them were anywhere near where Toijam Chandramani was shot.
CULTURAL LEARNINGS FOR MAKE BENEFIT GLORIOUS NATION OF KANGLEIPAK
Three Different Narratives, each attributed to Kuldeep Singh.
Regardless, we can dismiss the Pretension that Toijam Chandramani was a peaceful bystander taking in the air when he was most dastardly shot, in the midst of his sacred ablutions, at the gates of his Moirang relief camp, by those villainous Kukis.
Instead, it is obvious that Toijam Chandramani was one of a bunch of troublemakers, and a belligerent, and therefore an absolutely legitimate target, whether for Kukis, or for the Indian Army, Assam Rifles, etc.
The news reports are contradictory about whether Toijam Chandramani Singh was shot in the back, as some reports say, or took a bullet to the chest, as other news reports say. It is improbable that both versions are true.
WHAT THE KILLING OF TOIJAM CHANDRAMANI TRIGGERED
An injured Toijam Chandramani was taken to the Asian Hospital at Kwakeithel in Imphal, where he succumbed to his injuries.
His family and friends then blocked the Kwakeithel Tiddim Road.
Wednesday morning, at about 11.30 am, May 24, 2023, four Naga women of the Tangkhul tribe, natives of Ukhrul, were travelling in an autorickshaw owned and driven by a Meitei, to the Imphal Airport, to catch a flight to Bombay.
The friends and relatives of Toijam Chandramani stopped the Autorickshaw, asked the Naga women if they were "Haos," meaning Hills Tribals; the women identified themselves as Tangkhuls (a Naga tribe).
The women were pulled out by their hair, assaulted, one of them was very nearly disrobed with her shirt and innerwear torn, assaulted with iron rods, their luggage destroyed.
One of the Manipur Police personnel present, loaded his gun and threatened the Naga women victims of the Meitei mob lynching.
Manipur Police Central Control Room released a press note that "officially" denied that there had been a Meitei mob attack on Nagas at the Kwakeithel Bazar in front of the Asian Hospital.
Subsequently, Meitei mobs first attacked and vandalized the home of Konthoujam Govindas, a Meitei Manipur Government minister, and later, attacked and vandalized the home of "Prince" Ranjan Singh, a Meitei "Royal," and Government of India minister, for not doing enough to advance the Meitei Genocide of the Kukis.
STORY 1
Police officials in Imphal said that, some Kukis torched three Meitei houses at Phoubakchao in Bishnupur on Tuesday night. In retaliation, some Meitei youths burnt down four Kuki houses, and on hearing the commotion, some inmates of a relief camp there came out to see what was happening. A man, identified as Toijam Chandramani, 29, was hit by a bullet from behind. He was immediately taken to a private hospital in serious condition but succumbed to the bullet injury after some time.
STORY 2
On Wednesday, a group of citizens in Bishnupur held protests at the deputy commissioner's office seeking the deployment of adequate security personnel, The Frontier Manipur reported. They demanded that the security forces should be led by personnel from the Manipur Police.
State security advisor Kuldeep Singh told the media that on Tuesday night, a group of suspected Kuki militants had burned down three Meitei homes in the Bishnupur district. In retaliation, Meiteis burned down some four Kuki homes at Phoubakchao and nearby areas.
Several Meitei residents then engaged in demonstrations and started chasing the Kuki fighters, due to which security forces were brought in to control the situation. The security advisor said that around 9.30 am, Chandramani and another person sustained injuries from bullets "which were being fired from the Kuki hills."
Earlier on Wednesday, a man named Aribam Rishikesh Sharma sustained a bullet injury in firing by suspected militants in Singda, which is located about 19 kilometres from Imphal.
"Soon after the incident was reported, BSF and one section of Manipur Rifles rushed to the spot, chased the militants and brought the injured person to the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal," Singh said. The injured man is now said to be out of danger.
STORY 3
Officials said that a group of Kukis torched some abandoned houses in Tronglaobi village, which is close to the border between the two districts and near a relief camp set up for those displaced during the recent violence. Those affected retaliated by burning down four abandoned houses in the adjoining Gelmol village, and were then fired upon by suspected militants.
Toijam Chandraoni, 30, was shot dead during the violence, and Leichombam Abungnao, aged 22, was injured when Kuki militants opened fire at a group of people, mostly comprising those who were displaced during the recent ethnic clashes in Churachandpur and sheltering in a relief camp at Moirang in Bishnupur, a police officer said.

STORY 5
A villager who had volunteered to guard his village at Kadangband Part 1 under Kangchup Police Station in Imphal West sustained bullet injuries after suspected Kuki militants reportedly launched an attack around 1.25 am on Wednesday.
The injured villager has been identified as one Aribam Rishikesh, 31, son of (L) Brajabidhu from Kadangband Part 1.
As per sources, on receiving information that Kuki militants are about to attack their village, Rishikesh and a few others volunteered to stand guard.
Around 1.25 am, the Kuki militants who had built a bunker at the Old Quarters of Singda Dam fired into the village, as per sources. Rishikesh sustained bullet wounds on his right thigh and his fingers.
The bone of his right leg has been shattered by a bullet, and he is being treated at RIMS Orthopedic ward, sources said.
After Rishikesh was shot, personnel of the 7th Manipur Rifles (MR) fired blank rounds in the air and brought him out.
The personnel of the 7th MR had arrived at the community hall of Kadangband Part 1 on Tuesday.
After Rishikesh was injured, there was an exchange of fire with the Kuki militants till 4:00 am, as per sources.
Member of Kadangband Ward number 1, Ksh. Nabakumar told media that on Monday night one Saitinpao of Kangchup Geljang threatened them through phone that they have 40 AK rifles and they will kill all the villagers.
"I didn't know if he made the statement under alcoholic influence or not," said Nabakumar.
Later, in the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday suspected Kuki militants started attacking the villagers.
The villagers requested the BSF and Army personnel to help the villagers during the situation but instead of helping the villagers, the security personnel hid themselves for their self-protection, he reported.
Later, state police along with Manipur Rifles rushed to the spot and controlled the situation and during the incident Aribam Rishikesh Sharma received injuries from a bullet allegedly fired by Kuki militants, he said.
The state police told the villagers that the state police personnel are working for the people of the state irrespective of caste creed and religion. However, if any individual or group attacks them, then the state police will retaliate, he said.
